New Year, New Changes

Hey everyone! I'm back!!! New Year lots of things going on and the best part is more blogging!!! I'm very excited to really get my blog up and going this year.  I'll be mainly focusing on diet, mommy managing and of course TV! (Who doesn't love a good show) So with that being said, a new lifestyle change has happened.  I'm officially VEGAN (omg)  I've been a vegetarian for over five years and the change was awesome.  Becoming a vegan was prompted by giving birth to an amazing daughter.  Postpartum made me feel like I wanted a change for my daughter, a healthier change.  Thus the transition began.

So in the beginning giving up dairy was extremely difficult (omg) I missed it so much, but pizza (of course) was what I craved the most.  It was like I couldn't shake it.  I began to look for alternatives to my usual dominoes fix.  Side bar for those who are in the UK Pizza Hut now offers vegan pizza.  Anyway my new favorite pizza friends is Farmers Tomato Pie by American Flatbread.  I can't get enough of this pizza.  When I found it and tried it I literally ate the whole thing to by self.  Its so savory and the balsamic on it adds just enough that its hard to not fall in love with it.  American Flatbread also has a pizza called Vegan Harvest, that I have not tried but its on my list.  Truth is I can't put the Tomato pie down.

Then there's Ice Cream.  Ben and Jerry's has a vegan line that is absolutely delicious!!! Chunky Monkey is everything.  Its sweet, its salty, its creamy I want the whole pint in a setting.  I digress.  There are a variety of flavors within the vegan line.  Yay Ben and Jerry's.

Finally, frozen food is not always the best thing to eat on a daily basis.  Cooking as a vegan sometimes you can get stuck, because your use to your norm.  Friends get a cookbook.  Not any cookbook, I encourage you to get Tia Mowry's Cookbook "Whole New You".  It is absolutely amazing.  Breakfast, dinners, snacks.  The great thing about Tia's book is that she also explains different dietary needs.  She goes into detail about whole grains, and super veggies.  What it means to be gluten free or dairy free which she is.  I also love that in the book she gets personal and tells her story and her journey about why she made the decisions she made as far as eating is concerned and how it has helped her.  I encourage everyone to purchase even if your not vegan.

Stay tune for the journey, drop a comment and leave your blogs below.

  1. I actually run a vegan beauty and wellness company so hearing that you're going vegan is amazing! Congratulations on the birth of your little one by the way! xx
I'm sure there's some vegan ice cream that exists somewhere, unless it was my imagination... might be worth having a quick google!

    1. That's wonderful and thank you!!! Yes Ben and Jerry's had vegan Ice Cream as well as some others that are great.

Ripple Kids Milk

😋 I had the opportunity to try and review a new product on the market by Ripple Kids.  So its essentially Pea Milk.  I know your reading this and thinking Pea Milk really? I know I thought the same thing too.  But it was amazing!!!!

So first off, I stop eating dairy a while ago.  Needless to say I've been a search for a variety of dairy free products.  I hosted a picnic to try Ripple Kids with other mama's and it was greatly reviewed.  I personally loved that it didn't taste like "vegetable milk" I actually thought I was drinking a milk shake.  It wasn't super sweet and it wasn't bitter it was just right.

I'm eager to try it in different recipes, or in my tea or cereal.  This is a big deal considering that I didn't like dairy milk when I was eating dairy products, but I would totally use Ripple Kids milk on a daily basis.

If the LO is anything like her mama then this milk is here to stay in our family!!! I encourage you'll to try it.
